Aquarium goes open source
It's time to write a new chapter here at Fatfish Lab. It's been almost 9 years since we have created this company and its flagship software Aquarium.
We can’t express our gratitude enough to all customers for their trust in our software and our dedicated services. Without your loyalty, we wouldn't be reaching new milestones, and we sincerely thank you for standing by us. 🙏
Our software evolved in a way that we never imagined possible, primarily thanks to your feedback. Aquarium has grown to an impressive array of features, crucial for supporting both large-scale and smaller productions: thanks to its incredible performances, unparalleled customizations and technology. Aquarium continues to strengthen its position in the market, attracting more customers each month.
Trust is a journey. Changing your tools, processes and habits to transition to Aquarium, can pose significant risks for you, your productions, partners and your investments of both time and resources.
People who know us for a long time, known who we are, our identity, how we listen and work with you. Always taking time to understand your needs and to find solution to your challenges. That's part of our strength. We are not a company that leaves its users desperately waiting for new features or fixes, nor do we leave them to fend for themselves with the software. Aquarium is going fully open source.
We are happy to announce that we will open-source Aquarium and all its code, including components such as its backend, frontend and internal libraries (meshql, licenses management, Fatfish Lab UI, ...).
It's a big and daring move, yet we trust you to support us on this new journey.
Open sourcing our software is not just about giving you access to the code. Our intention is to offer more. That's why we are launching our community funding initiative. It's like crowdfunding, but for Aquarium's community.
Everyone is welcome to join, including our existing customers and partners alongside all enthusiastic newcomers. If you wish to support our vision and philosophy, we warmly welcome any donation.

Today, Aquarium stands at version 5. From Aquarium 6 onward, future version will be released under an OSI-approved license.
